I know I am not alone when I say that Kevin Smith and his movies are important to me. Not in that life changing ay some people found Forrest Gump or Avatar or anything, but important one the less. without the films of Kevin Smith, conversations about going ass to mouth or whether or not the contractors working on the unfinished Death Star in Return of the Jedi were to blame in their deaths as they knowingly took the job to build a battle station would have never taken place.
And while his notable works, such as Mallrats, Clerks I & II, and Dogma, stand the test of time as classics some of his other work (Jersey Girl comes to mind) are rather regrettable. Swearing off returning to the well of stoner based dick and fart jokes (in other words, claiming that Jay and Silent Bob are no more), Smith has undertaken directing a film written by someone else for the first time in his career.
When the first screen shots of Tracy Morgan walking around dressed as one of those street corner dancing ad campaigns I got a little worried; fearing that maybe Smith had lost a little zip off his fast ball). But today I caught the red band trailer for Cop Out, and I must admit I am a tad bit intrigued.
Why not have a gander, won't you....
Cop Out, starring Bruce Willis, Tracy Morgan, and the guy who played Stiffler hits screens February 26th.
