We are the world again: the video...

we-r-world-2As promised the 25 year anniversary edition of "We are the World" was dropped on all of us Friday during NBC's coverage of the 2010 winter Olympic opening ceremonies.  The song which the proceeds from are intended to go to assist the people of Haiti rebuild after last month's devastating earthquake (though more than likely it will end up lining the pocket of the gang leaders, warlords, and corrupt politicians over there...) was recorded over two weeks ago, and features over 80 of today's biggest names in music.

Some of the highlights for this version of the most unlistenable song ever recorded include:

-Jamie Fox reprising is Ray Charles impression in order to do the Ray Charles part of the song...

-Lil' Wayne and T. Pain replacing the distinct vices of Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen with their autotuned voices...

- Celine Dion doing the Cyndi Lauper part...

- The hip hop breakdown featuring LL Cool J, Wyclef Jean, Snoop double Dizzle, and a few other voices of note...

-The now overly commercialized disembodied voice of Michael Jackson singing his part along with his sister Janet in some spirit channeling musical breakdown...

Check out the video if you like (though I must warn you... the song is still just as unlistenable as it was 25 years ago...)
