Death Troopers...
Ya now... if you would have asked me this morning if there was anything missing from the Star Wars universe I would have o doubt told you no.
But that was before I heard about Death Troopers...
On the most recent installment of the Red Ring of Death [RRoD] podcast (which I can't recommend enough. Find it at http://bigoanddukes.com/), Washington D.C. radio demigod Chad Dukes made mention of a book entitled Death Troopers during a conversation on ways to branch out the Star Wars brand in order to keep providing content suitable (and palatable) for core fans of the franchise that grew up with the original trilogy.
Dukes went on to talk a little bit about the novel. This peaked my interest further, prompting me to Google the title. That's when my mind got totally and completely blown...
Stormtroopers fighting a star destroyer full of Imperial Zombies.
Death Troopers
Death Troopers is a Star Wars novel written by Joe Schreiber and released October 13, 2009. The first horror story set within the Star Wars universe in quite some time, Death Troopers is set in a galaxy far, far away in a time just before the events in Episode IV: A New Hope.
Death Troopers tells the tale of six stranded people trying to survive in a crippled Star Destroyer crawling with zombified (via unexplained viral infection) legion of Imperial officers and Stormtroopers.
[While I am sure that the plot synopsis alone as enough to peak your interest, please to be checking out this fan trailer for Death Trooper. It is a little hack, but does get the job done.]
I sense fear in you...

Apparently I am not alone in thinking that zombies reaping havoc in the Star Wars Universe is among one of the greatest ideas to ever come to fruition in entertainment...
