And these statements coming out of Lubbock County are right up there.
During an interview with a local Fox affiliate, Judge Tom Head had some interesting things to say regarding the re-election of President Barack Obama.
Judge Head: "As County Judge I am the emergency management coordinator. As emergency management coordinator I have to think about the very worst thing that can happen and prepare for that and hope and pray for the best, OK? And in this political climate and financial climate, what is the very worst thing that can happen right now? Obama gets back in the White House. No. God forbid."
Jeff Klotzman: "That's the political aspect of this."
Judge Head: "OK. What's going to happen. Now I'm going to tell you my opinion, OK. Obama has put executive orders and whatever other documents his minions have filed. And regardless of whether the Republicans take over the Senate, which I hope they do, he is going to make the United States Congress and he's going to make the Constitution irrelevant. He's got his czars in place that don't answer to anybody. He's got his documents in place. They're going to be irrelevant.
"He is going to do what he wants to do. Now what do you think he is going to try to do in this next term? One of the things, my opinion. One of the things is he's going to try to give the sovereignty of the United States away to the United Nations. What do you think the public is going to do when that happens? We are talking civil unrest, civil disobedience, possibly, possibly civil war, OK? Now what happens? What happens? Now I'm not talking just talking riots here and there. I'm talking Lexington, Concord, take up arms, get rid of the dictator. OK, what do you think he is going to do when that happens? He is going to call in the UN troops, personnel carriers, tanks and weapons."
Jeff Klotzman: "I hope you don't have like a crystal ball you're looking into."
Judge Head: "Hey I've got to look at the worst case scenario, OK. I don't want UN coming into Lubbock County, so I'm going to be standing in front of their personnel carriers and say, 'You're not coming in here.' And I've asked the Sheriff. I said, 'Are you going to back me on this?' And he said, 'Yeah, I'm going to back you.' Well, I don't want a bunch of rookies back there who have no training and little equipment. I want seasoned veteran people who are trained that have got equipment. And even then, you know we may have two or three hundred deputies facing maybe a thousand UN troops. We may have to call out the militia.
And, because the cries of a modern day Paul Revere need to be heard and not just read, here’s some video of Judge Head saying as much…
Remember the Alamo
That’s a new one…
I have heard politicians justify tax increases in lieu of pay cuts and budget reductions by claiming poor kids were going to starve, old people were going to die, and the countryside would be littered with roving rape gangs but never, in my nearly twenty years of paying attention to the goings on in the chambers of power, have I ever heard someone claim that they needed to raise taxes in order to be prepared for the coming invasion by the forces of the United Nations…
Forces called in by a beleaguered President Obama desperate to hold power from the throngs of militias that are spring up here and there as a response to his extra-Constitutional actions.
I kind of like it…
I mean, I could give a shit about starving poor kids and dying old folks… that’s their family’s problem, not my wallet’s…
But tax hikes to repel foreign invaders….
I’m pretty sure that’s something we can all get behind.
That said, I am not all that sure if this guy is wrong….
I could really see where something could pop off should Obama pull of a re-election.
Granted, I could also see things going up in flames should Obama get the grade he deserves following such a clusterfuck of a First Term.
But that’s more a result of our hyper-aggressive culture and inability to see beyond the shallow bumper sticker ready tag line for any given issue than it is anything else.
It’s the same reason hard core Pro-Life Republicans are having such a tough time throwing Rep. Todd Akin overboard for making perhaps the most moronic statement ever uttered by a politician. For whatever reason, they (and both sides go with this, so I’m not directly kicking Republicans) feel that by acknowledging the insanity of Akin’s claims it makes their argument on the issue overall seem somehow weak (because we can’t seem to wrap our mind around some jackass talking crazy and have to automatically assume he speaks for everyone).
And it is a shame our politics have evolved into such unproductive madness.
It’s why we can’t fix Social Security, still argue about marijuana and gun laws, can’t let the gays get married (and I am serious about this, the Gay and Lesbian movement took a HUGE step backwards when they let the transvestites/sexual into their folds… Folks are getting used to gay boys and bullish lesbos but genital mutilations and trannies still really creep out middle America.)…
Because compromise is impossible in this world.
And this sort of thinking is precisely why it is.
How does this guy ever sit at the negotiating table as Obama? Or Obama with him for that matter (because the Judge isn’t wrong about what Obama has signed and authorized...)? They have no common ground.
Judge Head’s unyielding Constitutional world view is never going to allow for the living, breathing Constitution that grants Obama and his Administration as much power as it does.
Just as the free living and privacy of Judge Head’s America could never exist in the under constant surveillance America Obama has created.
America and its citizens are going to have to make some very hard choices here in the coming decade that will dictate forever the direction and nature of the nation. I pray we have the resolve to make the right choice…
