Leftists clamor for Loyalty oaths...
Desperate to talk about anything other than his failures in foreign policy, healthcare, embassy security, transparency of office, or dwindling approval of his actions by the American people, President Obama oozed out a lament last week concerning the exodus of American companies to foreign flags in order to avoid the outrageous American business taxes.
"It's but, it's not right... They're technically renouncing their U.S. citizenship... They're declaring they are based someplace else even though most of their operations are here. You know, some people are calling these companies corporate deserters."
And it didn't take long for the brown shirt that still constitute his remaining supporters to being clamoring for loyalty oaths to be signed by American Corporations. Quoting The Daily Beast:
Because oaths and pledges are a little creepy, this effort needs something else—something that comes out of the legal and business worlds: a contract. More specifically, an NDA...
Now it’s time to change the “D” and expect the same from boards of directors—a “non-desertion agreement” with the John Hancock of every board member and CEO in the United States.
If boards thought for even a second about the long-term interests of their companies, they would summon their lawyers and sign. It’s protection against the risks of resurgent nationalism that could strip them of the many advantages (indirect government subsidies, easy access to American markets) that they currently enjoy.
Companies that fail to sign non-desertion agreements would face the kind of public shaming that has gone out of fashion but could come back with a vengeance: boycotts, petitions, angry shareholder meetings full of the language of patriotism.
So... at what point does the irony of these liberals jackbooting their way to Fascism in the name of freedom and liberty become apparent to them.
More Progressive Fascism!!!!
The US Civil Rights Commissioner has made the claim that perhaps college students are not yet ready for Free Speech, claiming that their still developing minds and maturing sensitivities demand speech controls be enforced.
Michael Yaki, a Democrat, made the statement while speaking at the US Commission on Civil Rights briefing on Sexual Harassment Laws in Education; likening free speech to the a Supreme Court ruling that keeps juveniles from earning a death sentence as he alluded to the hostile environments that were created by fraternity "slave auctions" and wild, controversial beliefs are volleyed about.
"... Certain factors in how the juvenile or adolescent or young adult brain processes information is vastly different from the way that we adults do.
So when we sit back and talk about what is right or wrong in terms of First Amendment jurisprudence from a reasonable person’s standpoint, we are really not looking into the same referential viewpoint of these people, of an adolescent or young adult, including those in universities..."
Giving PC "legal" teeth and claiming that there are certain people who are just not worthy enough to have Free Speech... If you think this is gojng to stop here, you're an idiot...
Happy Birthday, Mr. President...
Last Monday was Lord Barrack the Impotent's 53rd birthday. As is customary, the Anointed One marked the day by accepting all manners of gifts, gesture, and messages of well wishes and world leaders eager to herald the gloriousness of the day He made himself flesh and cast himself to be a mere Man.
But his most public gift came at the hands of Russian protesters as they flashed green lasers at the American Embassy in Moscow. The lasers formed an unflattering portrait of our great Lord, displaying a racist image of the President in a silly hat having a banana (the European equivalent to calling him "nigger") jammed in and out of his mouth, followed by the words "Obama" and "happy birthday" in English.
The laser light show was intended to compliment a banner that hung across the street from the American Embassy during the day, featuring three pictures of Obama replicating the “three little monkeys” theme in which our lampooned leader neither sees, hears, or speaks evils.
I gotta admit… weak leader aside, I kinda like being at odds with the Russians again… A new Cold War might be just what we need…
A Fire in the Sky???
Let's close out this week with another interesting video of an unexplained grouping of lights in the sky, this time in the skies over Milan, Italy.
The video, taken on July 6, 2014 by Italian citizen Antonio Urzi Simona Sibilla, features a clearly clustered group of brightly blinking lights flashing high above in the sky. I gotta be honest with you... It's pretty cool… Kinda looks like that thing in the Abyss…
