The first estimates of President Obama's plan to ease the costs of medical insurance have been released by the Congressional Budget Office today. A preliminary price tag of one trillion dollars over the next ten years has been tacked on to President Obama's call to revamp the American medical system, leaving one to ask if it is the President's intention to have the American people's health insurance savings go to paying for yet another bloated attempt by the government to try and be all things to all peoples.
The estimates were drawn up from a tentative plan being presented by the Democrats on the Senate's Health, Education, Labor and Pension Committee, chaired by Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass), set to be debated on Wednesday.
Under this bill, the Federalies would subsidize a variety of plans made available to help families pay for Health Insurance. The plan would be made available to families with incomes up to 500% of the poverty level (or currently $110,000 annually). The plan would also offset the Health Insurance costs of small businesses that provide health insurance benefits but pay low wages.
Eager not to seem as though they are not trying to piss on Obama's Health Care parade, the Congressional Budget Office went on to stress that these figures are (of course) preliminary and that before this process is all said and done there will have been lots and lots of plans (of varying expense) for Congress to mull over.
I am not sure about the rest you reading this, but does it not concern anyone else that these jackasses in Washington are sprinting to try and figure out how to give away over one third of our national economy in order to buy votes? These fucking guys are about to take less time to rebuild our medical insurance system than they took to send our soldiers into harms way over in Iraq (which took no less than two votes). It should also be noted that all those votes and deliberations and they still got it wrong. So I ask again... so soon guys??? Really??? We don't wanna maybe talk about this for a few days... maybe look at some options or something...
