Billy Mays National Pitchman Dead At 50

BillyMaysNationally known TV ad pitchman and Weekly Constitutional Favorite, Billy Mays, was found dead this morning in his Tampa home at the age of 50. TV is never going to be the same again.

Mays was found unresponsive by his wife and the Tampa Fire Rescue pronounced him dead at 7:45 a.m., according to the Tampa Police Department report. There were no signs of forced entry to the residence and no foul play is suspected, police said. The Medical Examiner's Office is expected to complete the autopsy by Monday afternoon. "Although Billy lived a public life, we don't anticipate making any public statements over the next couple of days," Mays' wife Deborah said in a statement the police released. "Our family asks that you respect our privacy during these difficult times."

As a huge fan of Billy Mays there is no way I can come up with something bad to say about him. If you are expecting jokes about his insane way of pitching of products stick to youtube. I have personally worked with Billy Mays and he is one of the nicest people you could have ever met. I will miss him and so will Tampa.

Billy Mays started his career selling stuff on the Jersey Boardwalk and then on Home Shopping Network. His energy and intense style made him the go to guy when they needed to sell a slow moving product. He became a national sensation promoting OxiClean, Orange Glo, and Kaboom He was the pitchman for all the Mighty products like the Mighty Putty, Mighty Shine, and Mighty Mendit.

In April, he launched a new reality series, "Pitchmen," on the Discovery Channel. A behind the scenes view of the Direct TV Marketing world is one of the best shows on. His passing is going to have a huge impact on the hit series and the industry as a whole. The current news overshadows even the most recent Hooker Beating Vince with his Shamwow and SlapChop.

Billy was on U.S. Airways Flight 1241 when it blew its front tires as it landed Saturday, forcing the airport to shut down the busy north-south runway, according to authorities. Mays and other passengers were interviewed by US Airways staff after the Philadelphia flight's hard landing. Responders reported no injuries. Tampa Fire and Rescue reported no injuries and nobody asked for treatment even though some of the passengers said they had bruises. There is no word if it is related to his passing

Looks like initial coroner reports are out and heart disease may be the cause. There was evidence of a heart condition and hardened arteries. So the initial cause of death is being reported as a heart attack. There are rumors of pain pills and possible abuse. We won't know the results until a toxicology report in several weeks. He has had several hip replacements and was due in for surgery this week. The pain pills may be related to his current physical condition and not an addiction.

Billy you will be missed and TV will never been the same without you.
