Eighties teen idol Corey Haim is dead today 03/10/2010 of what seems to be a drug overdose, according to Los Angeles police. The grim reaper has separated the 80’s teen dream power house of Corey and Corey. Mothers around the country are heartbroken and dreams of the actor starring in “The Lost Boys 3” and “License to Drive 2” are crushed.
The Canadian actor, who starred in 80’s cult classic "The Lost Boys”, is best known for his roles with fellow actor and at times best bud Corey Feldman. He was found unresponsive by his mother at an Oakwood apartment around 3:30 a.m., according to KTLA-TV. The actor, who has struggled with drug addiction, was pronounced dead at Providence St. Joseph's Medical Center in Burbank, he was 38.
Police sources told CBS Haim's death appeared accidental. Haim has been in and out of rehab and starred in a reality show with Feldman in 2007 called "The Two Coreys." He openly talked about his struggle with prescription drugs. He also was the only person to call out Feldman on alleged molestation by Michael Jackson. There is no telling how Feldman is dealing with the news.
He worked through the 1990s , but most of his films were straight-to-DVD . At the time of his death, Haim had a number of projects in development, including the indie thriller "The Pick Up," and was set to play a supporting role in the Mischa Barton teen comedy "The Science of Cool." Haim has been promoting his upcoming film, a thriller titled "American Sunset." Let’s hope his last movie lets him go out with a bang.
