Catapult used to smuggle marijuana...

lauch-potAfter forty years, the War on Drugs has finally gone Medieval.

National Guard troops operating a remote video surveillance system at the Naco Border Patrol Station say that they have observed drug smugglers resorting to a rather clever method to smuggle their contraband cross the American border.

Drug smugglers were said to be seen (and videotaped as the clip below illustrates) using a catapult of sorts to launch packages of marijuana into American territory.

Tucson TV station KVOA says Border Patrol agents working with the National Guard contacted Mexican authorities, who went to the location and disrupted the catapult operation.

The smugglers left the area before they could be captured, but Mexican officials seized about 45 pounds of marijuana, an SUV and the catapult device.
