Scumbag Ponzi scheme operator Bernard Madoff is set to face sentencing for his crimes on Monday. Madoff plead guilty in March to charges that his very exclusive investment advisory business was nothing more than a massive con job, which prosecutors believe may be the largest one in history.
Prosecutors are seeking a term of 150 years in jail for Madoff, whom a judge already ordered to forfeit $171 billion to try and make his victims whole. Several of the thousands that Madoff ripped off during the course of his scheme have asked to address the court during his sentencing. It is expected that many of those taken by Bernie Madoff will be at the courthouse Monday, either in the room or watching on the telecast in the lobby, to watch the man who ruined their retirements and stole their life savings get sent up the river.
