Forty years after making the hearts and imaginations of millions of Americans skip a beat with the first landing of a once Earth bound human on the surface of the moon, NASA has announced the discovery of previously unreleased footage of that fateful lunar landing.
The footage, said to be amazingly clear (unlike the choppy, static filled footage released in the summer of 1969), will be released next month, after NASA researchers have had some time to go through the video.
There is no word as of yet of what the footage contains, only that it is of the legendary Apollo 11 mission and that the footage had never been seen before by the public. The footage is expected to be released in three weeks, after NASA researchers have had time to go through and report on what is contained in the footage.
The video footage, recorded forty years ago from signals from the lunar expedition, went missing afterward. NASA is alluding to mislabeling as the culprit behind the lost footage.
For years, the moon landing has been a point of discussion. Whack jobs the world over have been railing on and on for years that the whole lunar trip was a scam- a Hollywood job involving a few actors and a camera during a weekend trip to Arizona. NASA believes that this new video will do much to quell those views, but (knowing whack job conspiracy theorists like we do here at the Constitutional) feel that the release of "new cleaner footage" will only add fuel to the obsessed minds out there. We can hear the cries about how there were no hi-def cameras in 1969 right now...
