It is of a bunch of mysterious lights doing odd things in the skies over Belfast on Friday night.
Taken by Richard Barr, just outside of his mother's backdoor, the video shows a group of bright lights with one of them separating from the group then beginning to flare and contrast.
Take a look won't you?
And, in order to get out all the information before we make a decision, how about a few words from the video's maker on the circumstances of his fateful video shoot:
"I was sitting watching TV and the first thing I saw was a huge orange light which appeared out of nowhere," he told the News Letter. My first impression was that it was a plane on fire and I looked at my mother and she thought the same thing. We went outside and the orange light got smaller and smaller and disappeared. Four others (orange lights) then came across the sky and seemed to form a sort of a pattern. They hovered there for a while and then they disappeared. The third time we saw three triangular lights in the sky and my mother got the camera and recorded them... From what we read on the internet afterwards, they have been filmed all over the world. They are huge craft and usually have three lights, one on each corner. They were definitely not planes and it wasn't helicopters because they made no noise. One thing we did consider was that they were Chinese lanterns but we could not be sure."
We report, You decide...
Not sure really what to make out of all of this.
There are obviously lights in the video, and one of those lights does seem to get really bright and really dim for no explainable reason. The video does not seem all that suspicious to me, too shitty looking and shaky to be part of an intentional hoax.
Could this be a case of a couple of Irish rednecks getting a bit too festive and mistakening a street lamp or distant bug zapper for something else?
Of course... that is always a factor in reporting these types of stories...
But for some reason, my shit detector is not bugging out at the sight of this video. Might it be a UFO? Sure...
But it could have just as easily have been planes or something else.In the end, it is up to you to figure out if you are buying into this shit (and believe me, most UFO videos, pictures, and anecdotes are just that... shit).
