Thom Acee hates a feel good video...

THOM-ACEEGrowing up, every little boy has dreamed of running in a touchdown during the big game.

And for one South Carolina lad, two coaches decided to make this dream come true.

During the first round of the South Carolina’s 3A football playoffs, Hilton Head’s Chip Mullen, a senior with down syndrome who has been playing on the team for his four years of high school, got to do just that, though not without the help of these two teams

Check out this “feel good” video of the year…

Isn't that nice?????

These two coaches decided that this young man was to be given a touchdown so everyone could feel good about themselves...

scxore-runWhat next... the big titted head cheerleader takes a load to the mouth so this kid gets the whole "big man on campus" experience????

Look, I get that this is a feel good moment… that this Mullen kid is going to have a nice memory for himself over this whole gift, but let's be honest... this is total fake shit

The two teams know it...

The fans in the stands know it...

The down syndrome kid's parents know it...

Hell, the poor kid knows it...

It’s not real... he didn't score a touchdown. He was given it.

The Longest Yard…

I spent years on the bench (on every team I played on)... I never scored a touchdown, never scored a goal, and can honestly say has never once come in first in any sort of athletic exercise…

[Fuck, I never even got a fair hit in five years of playing little league and- despite my freakish height (I was six foot in the 8th grade) and ability to dunk- I was rejected from my 8th grade basketball team in lieu of four 5 foot prepubescent boys due to an inability to dribble the ball while running.]

And do you think any of my coaches (including my father, who coached me in soccer) let me just have an easy victory??? Tell the other kids on the team to find a way to make me feel like I was a viable member of the team????

No.

They let me rot; occasionally pointing out how my lack of effort, talent, and positive attitude was what held me down (not to mention my disdain touchdownfor running). I’m not bitching that this kid should not have been allowed to have his moment. It was sweet and had all the good feelings of Rudy.

But this moment never happens in a world without television. This is a fake moment; created for nothing more than to get these teams a little TV time, make a viral video for themselves, and give all these bi-products of political correctness a reason to pat themselves on the back because their mighty healthy functioning brains found it within themselves to allow the poor pudding brained boy the simple pleasures that only a precious few of we, the Normies, ever get to experience.

And it’s because of that (well that and the afore mentioned bitterness I have towards all recreational athletics) that this video seems to have hit a nerve with me…
