Police abuse in the War on Drugs...

nixxxIn 1971, then President Nixon declared a war on illegal drugs and on the abuse of them.

And forty years later it has become painfully obvious to anyone looking at it that it has been an utter and total failure.

Perhaps as far as an epic fail...

For decades now, billions of dollars have poured out from the public troth into the bloated budgets of law enforcement agencies to prevent the production, distribution, and use of drugs by citizens (a practice that when tried with alcohol in the Judge-Andrew-Napolitano1early Twentieth Century was found to be foolhardy and futile and thus abandoned)...

And the results would hardly justify the price...

Check out this video of Fox Business Channel's  Judge Andrew Napolitano reporting on two very chilling stories showing  the ugly side of America's seemingly futile "War on Drugs"...

Just Say No...

war on drugs(1)

In my heart I want to believe that I really am not shocking anyone by claiming that America should really consider "rethinking"(if not out and out ending) the "War on Drugs".

But I know somewhere out in the hinterland there is some short haired house frow who upon reading that line completely and totally lost her shit.

She saw her son strung out on heroin by the time he was twelve... of having  to pick him up from seedy opium dens and flop houses where Chuck E. Cheese's once stood.

She saw her daughter standing stoically at her bus stop as bands of armed, drugged out savages wandering the now bhawkd3lawless streets around her.

From an American suburban paradise to Mogadishu just like that.

Yet it is the prohibition of the drugs that bring the violence, as those two video clips so perfectly showed.

Hopefully, this will not always be the case...
